Pineapple Necklace
In Hawaiian a pineapple is called "hala kahiki". Hawaiians thought the pineapple resembled their native "hala" fruit. "Kahiki" mans foreign as pineapples were introduced to Hawaii in the 1900s where they were grown on large plantations. Now this iconic fruit is symbolic of Hawaii and the aloha spirit.
